Stephen Castriota begins his fourth season as an assistant coach on the Cortland men's hockey staff in 2021-22.
Castriota played forward at SUNY Fredonia for four seasons and helped the Blue Devils qualify for the SUNYAC tournament three times. He led the team in scoring both his junior and senior seasons and finished his collegiate career ranked second on Fredonia’s all-time shorthanded goals list.
For three years prior to his arrival at Cortland, Castriota coached Junior A and Midget AAA in the Long Island Royals organization.
Castriota graduated from Fredonia in 2015 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration concentrating in Management. Over the summers, the Bellport, N.Y., native works hockey camps for Pro Ambitions Hockey and skills clinics for the Long Island Royals.
