CORTLAND, N.Y. –  Cortland finished first at a quad meet hosted by the Red Dragons. The Red Dragons finished with 518.5 points, followed by Geneseo (471.5), Brockport (178) and Potsdam (144). Sophomore Samantha Buckley (Holbrook/Sachem North) and senior Amy Jones (Burnt Hills/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) each won two individual events. Buckley claimed top honors in the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:05.89) and 500-yard freestyle (5:28.39) and Jones won both 1-meter (248.90 pts.) and 3-meter (272.50 pts.) diving.

Sophomore Krista Bergquist (West Islip) won the 100-yard backstroke (1:02.55) and freshman Jennifer Thorpe (Lakewood/Southwestern) captured the 100-yard breaststroke (1:09.94). The combination of Bergquist, sophomore Taylor Houseman (Wellsville), sophomore Lauren Mikula (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa) and sophomore Kristin Barnoski (Stanley/Marcus Whitman) won the 200-yard medley relay (1:53.80).

Cortland's runner-up finishes at the meet included sophomore Katie Molzan (Plattsburgh/Peru) in both the 200-yard freestyle (2:01.28) and 100-yard freestyle (56.25), Barnoski in the 50-yard freestyle (25.34), freshman Danielle McCarthy (Johnson City) in 3-meter diving (225.00 pts.) and the quartet of junior Lauren Friedlander (Woodbury/Syosset), Bergquist, freshman Brittany Zdybowicz (Buffalo/Kenmore West) and Barnoski in the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:43.86).
