EAST MEADOW, N.Y. – Cortland finished in eighth place at the three-day Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Swimming and Diving Championships, held at the Nassau County Aquatic Center. The Red Dragons finished with 219 points, with The College of New Jersey taking top honors out of 16 schools with 793.5 points.
Sophomore Daniel Evans (Hamburg) and junior
Drew Hilker (Ithaca) each turned in three top-16 scoring performances. Evans finished third in the 100-yard freestyle (47.33) and 13th in both the 50-yard freestyle (22.11) and 200-yard freestyle (1:46.93). Hilker finished sixth in the 200-yard freestyle (1:46.26), 11th in the 200-yard individual medley (2:04.10) and 13th in the 100-yard freestyle (48.36).

Brett Humphreys (Amsterdam), junior
Drew Hilker (Ithaca) and Evans for Cortland's best relay effort, a fourth-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay (1:38.47).
Senior
Kevin Stuttle (Dryden) finished third in both one-meter (417.45 points) and three-meter (437.85 points) diving. Humphreys finished eighth in both the 100-yard breaststroke (1:01.11) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:14.15) and junior
David Dow (Port St. Lucie, FL/Glastonbury (CT)) was ninth in the 1,650-yard freestyle (17:19.14).
Other Red Dragons scoring points in individual events were sophomore
Jeff Moessinger (Buffalo/Iroquois) in the 200-yard butterfly (15th place, 2:03.94) and junior
Brett Poffenbarger (Owego/Owego Free Academy) in the 100-yard breaststroke (16th place, 1:02.46).
