NEW YORK, N.Y. - The Cortland women's swimming and diving team finished third at the season-opening NYU Invitational Friday and Saturday. The host Violets won the meet with 1,377 points. Stevens Institute scored 862 points to place just ahead of Cortland, which scored 838 points.
Sophomore
Danielle McCarthy (Johnson City) posted Cortland's lone victory at the meet with a score of 234.23 points in three-meter diving. Junior
Taylor Houseman (Wellsville) earned a pair of top-three finishes. She was second in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:11.56) and third in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:39.49).

Samantha Buckley (Holbrook/Sachem North) finished third in the 200-yard backstroke (2:19.85). Also turning in top-four individual performances were senior
Jeannine McNamara (Williamsville/Williamsville East) in three-meter diving (162.75 points) and freshman
Laura Bohneberg (Lockport) in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:39.60), both in fourth place.
