Cortland struck quickly when Spehler scored 1:25 into the game on a one-timer off a crossing pass from Chambers. The lead grew to 2-0 just over two minutes later when Semit knocked in a reverse-stick shot at the left post, assisted by Burghardt.

Semit scored again in the 19th minute, set up by Chambers, when she one-timed a shot in front of the cage. Yetsko tallied her second goal of the season with 10:59 left in the half when she poked in a loose ball hit by Hand.

Cortland's final two goals came on a Spehler one-timer at the left post 9:48 into the second half, assisted by McCabe, and a long blast by Eichenberger for an unassisted goal with 14:22 remaining. Ithaca pressured the Red Dragons in the final 10 minutes but couldn't spoil the shutout.
