Cortland First of Five at Home Sprint Relays

Kristin Barnoski was on every Cortland winning relay
CORTLAND, N.Y. - Cortland finished in first place out of five schools at the Cortland Sprint Relays, held at the College's Holsten Pool. The Red Dragons scored 316 points, followed by Oswego (265), Fredonia (218), Oneonta (143) and Clarkson (62).

Junior Kristin Barnoski (Stanley/Marcus Whitman) was part of three winning relays at the meet. Three other Red Dragons - junior Krista Bergquist (West Islip), senior Lauren Friedlander (Woodbury/Syosset) and junior Katie Molzan (Plattsburgh/Peru) - were on two winning entries (these totals do not include the 8x25-yard freestyle relay, which Cortland also won).

Bergquist, junior Taylor Houseman (Wellsville), sophomore Liz Neddo (Syracuse/Fowler) and Barnoski won the 400-yard medley relay (4:13.57). Friedlander, Bergquist, Molzan and Barnoski won the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:44.07) and junior Megan Donlevy (Lake Grove/Sachem North), Molzan, Friedlander and Barnoski captured the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:49.55).

Cortland also turned in four runner-up finishes. Junior Lauren Mikula (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa), Neddo and Bergquist were second in the 300-yard butterfly relay (3:13.66) and Molzan, freshman Laura Bohneberg (Lockport) and Houseman placed second in the 300-yard breaststroke relay (3:37.63). Houseman, sophomore Rachel Phillips (Angola/Eden) and Molzan finished second in the 300-yard medley relay (3:23.25) and Bergquist, Houseman, Neddo and Barnoski were second in the 200-yard medley relay (1:57.29).
