BETHLEHEM, PA. – The Cortland women's cross country team, ranked 14th nationally in Division III, finished first out of 37 schools in the White Division of the Lehigh University Paul Short Run. The Red Dragons finished with 102 points, followed by Division II Edinboro with 113 points and Division I schools San Diego and Manhattan with 144 and 152 points, respectively. In all, eight Division II and two Division I schools were in the field.
Sophomore
Andi Palen (Gardniner/Wallkill) finished second out of 255 runners with a time of 21 minutes, 41 seconds over 6,000 meters. She crossed the finish line only three seconds behind the winner from Ursinus, Christa Johnson.
All of Cortland's runners placed in the top 70, including five in the top 40. Freshman
Alyson Dalton (Sherrill/Vernon-Verona-Sherrill) finished 10th in 22:21, senior
Brittany Brunetto (Fishkill/Beacon) was 14th in 22:25, senior
Alanna Hollborn (Islip Terrace/East Islip) placed 36th in 23:05 and junior
Kate Ramsbotham (West Islip) was 40th in 23:08.
Senior
Erin McGrath (Oakdale/Connetquot) turned in a 61st-place time of 23:35 and sophomore
Jessica Stanton (Elmira Heights/Thomas A. Edison) finished 67th in 23:48.
