Junior Seth DuBois edged teammate Shamus Nally by one second for the individual title
CASTILE, N.Y. - The nationally top-ranked Cortland men's cross country team placed seven runners in the top 10 and nine in the top 12 and easily captured the SUNYAC Championships Saturday afternoon at Letchworth State Park. The Red Dragons totaled 22 points, followed by Geneseo (61), Plattsburgh (87), Fredonia St. (104), Brockport (151), Oneonta (153), New Paltz (218), Buffalo St. (231), Oswego (285) and Potsdam (330).
Junior
Seth DuBois (Altamont/Guilderland) earned Cortland's second individual title in a row, completing the 8,000-meter course in 25:00, barely edging senior
Shamus Nally (Burnt Hills/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) by one second for the top spot. Senior
Josh Henry (Truxton/Homer) placed fifth in 25:21 and narrowly finished ahead of junior
Justin Wager (Guilderland), last year's individual champion, who came in 6th in the same time. Each runner earned first team All-SUNYAC honors.
The Red Dragons then captured the the eighth through 12th positions with each competitor garnering second team all-conference honors. Sophomore

Eric Stermer (Chenango Forks) placed ninth (25:40), junior
Kyle O'Brien (Monroe/Monroe-Woodbury) finished 10th (25:42), junior
Travis DeRusso (East Berne/Berne-Knox-Westerlo) crossed the finish line in 11th (25:49) and junior
Jerry Greenlaw (Warwick/Warwick Valley) placed 12th (25:51). A total of 125 runners competed.

Steve Patrick was chosen after the race as the 2008 SUNYAC Men's Cross Country Coach of the Year.
