Andrew Giuliano (Thornwood/Westlake) rushed 21 times for 146 yards and tied his career high with four touchdowns and senior quarterback
Ray Miles (Port Byron) completed 20-of-30 passes for a career-best 348 yards and two scores as Cortland defeated Brockport, 42-30. The Red Dragons finished the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) portion of their schedule with a 9-0 record to claim sole possession of the league title.
Giuliano set a school record for touchdowns scored in a season with 21 and became the seventh player at Cortland to rush for more than 2,000 career yards (2,142). He is also the school single-season record-holder with 126 points scored. Omar Darling set the previous school season records with 18 touchdowns and 108 points scored in 1998.

Zacc Guaragno (Lansing) made eight catches for 156 yards and a touchdown and senior
Eric Hajnos (Grand Island) finished with four receptions for 103 yards and a score.
Cortland won despite being outgained 542-511 in total offensive yards, although the Red Dragons averarged 8.4 yards per play to the Golden Eagles' 6.5 per play. Brockport senior quarterback Zack Luke (Cambridge) completed 39-of-48 passes for 399 yards and three touchdowns but was intercepted four times as part of Brockport's five turnovers.
Three players had more than 100 receiving yards for the Golden Eagles (5-4, 5-3 NJAC), who had their four-game win streak snapped. Junior Felipe Diaz (Syracuse/Onondaga) caught 12 passes for 122 yards and three touchdowns. Freshman Tamere Shannon (Buffalo/McKiney) grabbed 11 passes for 121 yards and junior Matt Newman (Unadilla/Unatego) finished with eight catches for 105 yards.
Four Cortland players posted double-figure tackle totals. Senior linebacker
Jim Smith (Nanuet) recorded 19 tackles, nine solo, and an interception, Sophomore linebacker
Colan Shue (Theresa/Indian River) had 15 tackles, sophomore linebacker
Brian Haas (East Aurora/St. Francis) made 11 tackles and picked off a pass and sophomore safety
Chris Hanlon (Patchogue/Patchogue-Medford) recorded 10 tackles. Freshman cornerback
D.J. Romano (Newburgh/Newburgh Free Academy) registered two interceptions, forced a fumble and made eight tackles.
Four players - Neil Fay (Olean), Ryan Hynes (Dansville), Nathan Bull (Brockport) and Matt Mangona (Saratoga Springs) - led Brockport with seven tackles each. Cevon Carver (Bronx/Dewitt Clinton) intercepted a pass for Cortland's lone turnover, compared to five giveaways by Brockport.
Cortland scored on the game's first drive. Guaragno caught a 44-yard pass on the first play from scrimmage and Giuliano scored on a 10-yard run four plays later. Brockport drove to the Cortland 6-yard line on its first possession, but a false start penalty on 4th-and-1 forced the Golden Eagles to settle for a 28-yard Jeff Cook (Rochester/Penfield) field goal and Cortland led 7-3.
The Red Dragons drove 60 yards on seven plays during their next possession and Giuliano's 2-yard touchdown run gave him the school touchdown and scoring records and put Cortland up 14-3 with 3:16 left in the first quarter. The lead grew to 21-3 with 3:57 left in the half when, following a Romano interception, Cortland drove 83 yards on seven plays. The big play in the drive was a 36-yard gain by Hajnos on a screen pass to the Brockport 20-yard line.
Each team scored touchdowns on its first two possessions of the second half. Brockport started with a 77-yard drive, aided by a roughing the kicker penalty that negated a 69-yard punt return for a touchdown by
Derrick Woodard (Whitesboro). The Golden Eagles eventually scored on Luke's 19-yard pass to Diaz with 10:02 on the clock. Cortland defensive lineman
Lou Crispo (Eastchester) blocked the extra point and Cortland led 21-9. The Red Dragons answered quickly with a three-play drive that concluded on a Miles 45-yard pass to a wide open Hajnos for a touchdown and a 28-9 lead.
Brockport senior tailback Garet Lynch (Valley Stream/Springfield Gardens) capped Brockport's next drive with a 1-yard touchdown run with 5:55 left in the third quarter. Lynch finished the game with 23 carries for 87 yards. Luke rushed in for a two-point conversion and Brockport was within 28-17.
Giuliano's 30-yard run highlighted Cortland's next drive, which concluded with a 19-yard touchdown pass from Miles to Guaragno. The fourth quarter featured two Diaz touchdown catches from six and 17 yards, sandwiched around Giuliano's 27-yard scoring run for his fourth touchdown.
Cortland completes the regular season next Saturday at noon when it hosts Ithaca College in the 50th annual "Cortaca Jug" game. The Bombers will enter the game with an 8-1 record. Cortland will learn its first -round NCAA pairing and site next Sunday, Nov. 16.
