Pole Vaulters Reach NCAA Qualifying Height at Cornell Relays

Keri Laviska was one of two Red Dragon pole vaulters, along with Sarah Kimball, to clear 11' 3.75"
ITHACA, N.Y. - Senior pole vaulters Keri Laviska (Binghamton/Susquehanna Valley) and Sarah Kimball (Liverpool) each provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships with their performances at the season-opening Cornell Relays. Laviska and Kimball tied for second place, each clearing 11' 3.75".

Laviska and Kimball were two of Cortland's three pole vaulters in the top four. Junior Katie Taber (Watkins Glen/Odessa-Montour) finished fourth with a height of 10' 10".

A number of Red Dragons competed in the 3,000-meter run at the non-team scoring meet. Sophomore Andi Palen (Gardiner/Wallkill) was Cortland's top finisher in the event with a second-place time of 10:19.15. Senior Alanna Hollborn (Islip Terrace/East Islip) finished third (10:47.84), junior Lisa Holt (Phoenix/John C. Birdlebough) was fourth (10:47.93) and freshman Alyson Dalton (Sherrill/Vernon-Verona-Sherrill) placed fifth (10:48.54).

Junior Kristen Serikstad (Oyster Bay) finished third in the high jump (5' 3"). She is a returning All-American in the event.
