J.J. Riese was one of four Red Dragons to finish in the top six in the 60-meter dash
ITHACA, N.Y. - Cortland claimed four of the top six spots in the 60-meter dash, led by senior Amaan Siddeeq's (Goshen) victory in the event, to highlight the Red Dragons' performances at the Cornell University Kane Invitational.

Siddeeq improved on his NCAA automatic qualifying time (for the 55-meter dash) with his winning time of 6.77 seconds. He defeated 44 other sprinters in the event. Senior Kevin Ma (Cornwall) finished third with an NCAA provisional time of 6.93 seconds, senior J.J. Riese (Central Square/Paul V. Moore) finished fifth (ECAC-qualifying 7.03 seconds) and senior Stan Cadet (Hicksville) placed sixth (7.13).

Freshman Gino Bisceglia (Norwood/Norwood-Norfolk) finished fourth and fifth, respectively, in the 400 meters. Bisceglia's time of 50.69 is an ECAC qualifier, while Bieringer's time of 51.07 just missed the qualifying standard.

Sophomore Drew Hilker (Ithaca), one week after setting a school record in the 100-yard butterfly at the SUNYAC Swimming and Diving Championships, finished in the top seven in two field events. He placed sixth in the long jump at 21' 3.5" and was seventh in the high jump with an ECAC-qualifying height of 6' 4.25".

Junior Jake Zanetti (Saratoga Springs) finished fifth in the pole vault (ECAC-qualifying 15' 3") and senior James Barracca (Center Moriches/Sachem North) placed fifth in the mile (4:24.61). Senior Ronny Rodriguez (Harlem/John F. Kennedy) was seventh in the 200 meters (23.50) and sophomore Joe Keleher (Newfane) finished seventh in the 60-meter hurdles (8.89). Keleher's time of 8.61 seconds was fifth-best in the prelims.
