Kyle O'Brien's second-place time of 8:57.47 in the 3,000 meters is an ECAC qualifier
ITHACA, N.Y. - Cortland senior Kevin Ma (Cornwall) finished second in the 60-meter dash and sophomore Kyle O'Brien (Monroe/Monroe-Woodbury) placed second in the 3,000-meter run at the Cornell Men's Track and Field Invitational.
Ma improved on his NCAA provisional time (for the 55-meter dash) with his showing of 6.90 seconds. He finished second out of 48 competitors at the meet. Ma also finished in seventh place in the 200-meter dash in 23.26 seconds.
O'Brien qualified for the ECAC Division III Championships with a time of 8:57.47 in the 3,000 meters. Junior Jake Zanetti (Saratoga Springs) tied for third in the pole vault (14' 9"), an ECAC qualifier. Other Red Dragon top-10 finishers included freshman Stephen Scrafford (Cooperstown) and junior Clark Holdsworth (Vestal) in the 1,000 meters - Scrafford was seventh (2:39.86) and Holdsworth placed eighth (2:44.77) - along with sophomore Joe Keleher (Newfane) in the 60-meter hurdles (10th, 8.68 seconds).
