Serikstad Earns All-America High Jump Honors

Kristen Serikstad cleared 5' 3.25" to tie for fifth place and earn All-America honors
ADA, OHIO - SUNY Cortland sophomore Kristen Serikstad (Oyster Bay) tied for fifth in the high jump to earn All-America honors in the event during the first day of competition at the NCAA Division III Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships. The meet is being hosted by Ohio Northern University.

Serikstad finished in a three-way tie for fifth place at 5' 3.25" (1.61 meters), with the top eight finishers earning All-America recognition. Keene State's Crystal Blamy won the event with a height of 5' 7.75".

Serikstad was one of nine competitors, ranging from 5th to 14th place, to clear 5' 3.25". She was one of only three, however, who cleared the previous height, 5' 1.25", on the first try and 5' 3.25" on the second try. The others who cleared 5' 3.25" either did so on their third attempt or had more misses at lower heights.

Cortland's lone national qualifier in the women's meet, Serikstad scored three team points for her efforts. The Red Dragons tied for 51st place in the final team standings.
