Senior Matt Bieringer was a member of the winning and school-record setting 4 x 400 relay team
CAMBRIDGE, MASS. - The Cortland men's indoor track and field team finished ninth of 58 teams at the ECAC Div. III Indoor Track and Field Championships with 23 points. St. Lawrence won the team title with 69 points. Three Red Dragons earned individual All-ECAC honors, while the 4 x 400 relay team won an ECAC title and set a school record.
Seniors
Matt Bieringer (Center Moriches) and
J.J. Riese (Central Square/Paul V. Moore) and freshmen
Adam Groesbeck (Kirkville/East Syracuse-Minoa) and
Gino Bisceglia (Norwood/Norwood-Norfolk) turned in a time of 3:21.92 in the 4 x 400 relay, which bested the old school record of 3:22.05 set in 2004.
Bisceglia was Cortland's top individual finisher as he placed fourth in the 400 meters in 49.68. Senior
Kevin Ma (Cornwall) finished fifth in the 55 meters in 6.48, and junior
Josh Henry (Truxton/Homer) crossed the finish line fifth in the 5,000 meters in 15:00.58.
Sophomore
Drew Hilker (Ithaca) narrowly missed All-ECAC honors with a tie for ninth in the high jump at 6' 4.25".
