Christa McGough won both the long jump and the triple jump with ECAC-qualifying performances

Alanna Hollborn (Islip Terrace/East Islip) set a school record and provisionally qualified for nationals in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and senior
Christa McGough (Remsen) won two field events to highlight the Red Dragons' performances at their own Cortland Classic.
Hollborn finished second in the steeplechase with a time of 11:08.57, eclipsing the previous school record of 11:18.35 set by Betsy Schultz in 2005. Hollborn's time comes in more than four seconds under NCAA Division III provisional qualifying standards. McGough won the long jump with a leap of 17' 1.25” and the triple jump with a distance of 36' 6.25”, both ECAC qualifiers.
Senior
Ashley Wirges (Hopewell Junction/Arlington) claimed top honors in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:08.06. Juniors
Sarah Kimball (Liverpool) and
Keri Laviska (Binghamton/Susquehanna Valley) each cleared 11' 4.25” in the pole vault, with Kimball declared the winner due to fewer misses.
Junior
Carly Kennedy (North Tonawanda) won the 100-meter hurdles in an ECAC-qualifying time of 16.02 seconds and finished third in the 200-meter dash in 26.97 seconds. Kennedy also teamed with sophomore
Mallory Baker (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa), sophomore
Erin Gallagher (Monroe/Monroe-Woodbury) and Wirges to win the 4x100-meter relay in an ECAC time of 51.34 seconds.
Sophomore
Kristen Serikstad (Oyster Bay) qualified for ECACs with her second-place javelin throw of 115' 0” and sophomore
Kate Ramsbotham (West Islip) was an ECAC qualifier in the 1,500 meters with an eighth-place time of 4:48.10. Serikstad also finished third in the high jump at 5' 1”. Baker earned runner-up status in the 100-meter dash (12.99), with freshman
Heather Harrington (Rehoboth, MA/Dighton-Rehoboth) in third place (13.43).
Cortland will compete in a meet at Ithaca College this Tuesday and will host the SUNYAC Championships Friday at Saturday. The Red Dragons are the defending league champion.
