Kate Ramsbotham's performance in the 1,500 meters qualified her for the ECAC Division III Championships
WILLIAMSBURG, VA. – Junior
Alanna Hollborn (Islip Terrace/East Islip) finished second in the 5,000-meter run with an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying time of 17:07.66 to highlight Cortland's performances at the Colonial Relays, hosted by William and Mary. One of only two non-Division I schools at the meet, Cortland placed 15th out of 21 teams with 10 points.
Five other Red Dragons qualified for the ECAC Division III Championships with their efforts. Junior
Sarah Kimball (Liverpool) finished eighth in the pole vault (11' 1.75”) and junior
Keri Laviska (Binghamton/Susquehanna Valley) tied for ninth in that event (10' 8”). Sophomore
Kate Ramsbotham (West Islip) finished 16th in the 1,500 meters (4:44.89) and sophomore
Kristen Serikstad (Oyster Bay) finished 23rd in the long jump (16' 7.75”). Freshman Andrea Palen (Gardiner/Wallkill) posted a 16th-place time of 18:18.60 in the 5,000 meters.
Cortland also boasted a fifth-place finish in the 4x1,500-meter relay as Hollborn, Ramsbotham, Palen and freshman
Caitlin Sullivan (Elmira Heights/Thomas A. Edison) were clocked at 19:38.72.
