SPRINGFIELD, MASS. – Five Red Dragons posted top-eight finishes to lead Cortland to a 23rd place out of 53 teams at the ECAC Division III Championships, held Thursday and Friday at Springfield College. The Red Dragons earned 14 points, while Moravian won the title with 57 points.
Junior
Keri Laviska (Binghamton/Susquehanna Valley) and junior
Sarah Kimball (Liverpool) placed fourth and sixth, respectively, in the pole vault. Laviska cleared an NCAA provisional qualifying height of 11' 8.5", while Kimball recorded a best height of 11' 2.5".
Also earning All-ECAC honors by virtue of their top-eight showings were freshman Andrea Palen (Gardiner/Wallkill), who was sixth in the 5,000 meters (18:14.06), freshman Jessica Stanton (Elmira Heights/Thomas A. Edison), who placed seventh in the 800 meters (2:19.10), and sophomore
Kristen Serikstad (Oyster Bay), who finished eighth in the high jump (5' 3.25").
