Seth DuBois improved from 10th place last year to seventh place and All-America honors this spring in the 10,000 meters
OSHKOSH, WIS. – Cortland sophomore
Seth DuBois (Altamont/Guilderland) earned All-America honors with a seventh-place finish in the 10,000-meter run during the first day of action at the NCAA Division III Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Wisconsin-Oshkosh is hosting the three-day meet at its on-campus J.J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium.
DuBois finished seventh out of 17 runners with a time of 30:43.59. The top eight finishers are All-Americans. DuBois improved on his 10th-place finish in the event from last season. Junior
Shamus Nally (Burnt Hills/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) finished 10th (30:50.15) and sophomore
Jerry Greenlaw (Warwick/Warwick Valley) was 14th (31:05.62). Wisconsin-Platteville's Tyler Sigl successfully defended his national title in 30:34.51, just two hundredths of a second ahead of the runner-up.
Both of Cortland's entrants in the 1,500-meter run qualified for Saturday's finals. Junior
Niko Viglione (Purdys/Somers) finished second in both his heat and overall with a time of 3:54.86. Sophomore
Justin Wager (Guilderland) placed fifth in his heat and 11th overall in 3:57.98. Twelve of the 16 runners in the prelims qualified for the finals.
Senior
Amaan Siddeeq (Goshen) earned one of nine spots in Saturday's 200-meter dash. He won his heat and was sixth overall with a time of 21.48 seconds. Senior
J.J. Riese (Central Square/Paul V. Moore) finished 16th out of 17 runners in 21.88 seconds and did not qualify for the finals.
Siddeeq also anchored Cortland's 4x100-meter relay that advanced to Saturday's finals with a sixth-place overall (and third in its heat) time of 40.98 seconds.
Senior
Kevin Ma (Cornwall) led off the relay, followed by Riese, senior
Matt Bieringer (Center Moriches) and Siddeeq. Nine of the 15 relay teams that competed earned spots in the finals.

Gino Bisceglia (Norwood/Norwood-Norfolk), Riese, freshman
Adam Groesbeck (Kirkville/East Syracuse-Minoa) and Bieringer was unable to qualify for the finals. They finished fifth in their heat and 11th overall with a time of 3:16.01.
Competing for Cortland on Friday will be Siddeeq in the 100-meter dash preliminaries and sophomore
Kyle O'Brien (Monroe/Monroe-Woodbury) in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.
