OSHKOSH, WIS. – SUNY Cortland juniors
Sarah Kimball (Liverpool) and
Keri Laviska (Binghamton/Susquehanna Valley) tied for 16th place in the pole vault during the first day of competition at the NCAA Division III Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The three-day meet is being held at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh's J.J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium.
Kimball and Laviska each cleared 10' 10.75" on their second attempts before failing on three tries at 11' 4.5". Freshman Holly Rollins of McMurry University won with a height of 12' 10.25"
Cortland continues competition on Friday when sophomore
Kristen Serikstad (Oyster Bay) participates in the high jump. Serikstad was an indoor All-American in the event this past March with a tie for fifth place. Junior
Alanna Hollborn (Islip Terrace/East Islip) will run in the 5,000 meters on Saturday.
