OSWEGO, N.Y. – Cortland placed five runners in the top 20 and finished in second place at the 14-team Oswego Laker Invitational. The Red Dragons, ranked 24th in the latest Division III national poll, earned runner-up status despite four of the team's top seven returners from last season not competing.
Ithaca College won the race with 46 points and Cortland ended with 59 points. Rounding out the top five were Houghton (111), RIT (118) and Roberts Wesleyan (124).
Freshman
Alyson Dalton (Sherrill/Vernon-Verona-Sherrill) finished third out of 153 runners on the 4,500-meter course in 17:22. Ithaca's Lindsey Nadolski was the winner in 17 minutes even. Senior

Kate Ramsbotham (West Islip) placed 10th and 11th, respectively, in 17:51 and 17:52.
Freshman Chrissy DiLallo (Randolph) turned in a 17th-place time of 18:15, followed directly by junior
Katie Dylag (Williamsville/Williamsville East) in 18th place (18:22). Junior
Lauren Phillips (Batavia) crossed the line 26th (18:51), sophomore
Jessica Stanton (Elmira Heights/Thomas A. Edison) was 27th (18:59) and senior
Liz Wolff (Syracuse/Henninger) placed 28th (19:02).
Five other Red Dragons finished in the top 50. Sophomore
Erin Keaveney (West Hempstead/Kellenberg Memorial) finished 32nd (19:15), sophomore
Kristin Vespa (Ossining) was 37th (19:22) and sophomore
Barbara Green (Levittown/Division Avenue) finished 38th (19:24). Sophomore
Caitlin Sullivan (Elmira Heights/Thomas A. Edison) ended 41st (19:30) and freshman
Katie Poleski (Ossining) was 48th (19:43).
