Jerry Greenlaw's sixth-place effort was one of four top-eight finishes for the Red Dragons
ONEONTA, N.Y. – The nationally top-ranked Cortland men's cross country team tied for first place out of nine schools at the Oneonta Airfield Invitational. The Red Dragons claimed four of the top eight individual spots despite still resting some of their top runners. Cortland and Plattsburgh each finished the meet with 45 points, easily ahead of Oneonta's third-place 88 points.
Junior
Justin Wager (Guilderland) finished fourth overall and was the third collegiate finisher with a time of 18:54 over a 6,000-meter course. Hamilton College's Peter Kosgei, the 2007 NCAA Division III runner-up, won the race in 18:26.

Jerry Greenlaw (Warwick/Warwick Valley) placed sixth overall in 19:19, with junior
Travis DeRusso (East Berne/Berne-Knox-Westerlo) and junior
Eric Stermer (Chenango Forks) in seventh (19:21) and eighth (19:27) place, respectively.
Rounding out Cortland's top seven were freshman
Ian Clerkin (Cornwall) in 25th place (20:19), freshman
Kyle Fitzpatrick (Washingtonville) in 30th place (20:33) and junior
Jeffrey Marrone (Hauppauge/St. Anthony's) in 35th place (20:43). In all, 120 runners competed in the race.
