Red Dragons Lose 133.5-109.5 at Unbeaten Oswego

Kristin Barnoski won both the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle races and anchored the winning 200-yard freestyle relay team
OSWEGO, N.Y. – Despite winning five individual events and one relay, Cortland dropped a 133.5-109.5 dual-meet decision at unbeaten SUNY Oswego. The Red Dragons are now 4-2, while Oswego improved to 7-0.

Junior Kristin Barnoski (Stanley/Marcus Whitman) earned victories in both the 50-yard freestyle (25.57) and 100-yard freestyle (56.10). She also anchored the Red Dragons' winning 200-yard freestyle relay team (1:43.74) that also featured junior Katie Molzan (Plattsburgh/Peru), junior Megan Donlevy (Lake Grove/Sachem North) and senior Lauren Friedlander (Woodbury/Syosset).

Cortland's other victories were by junior Taylor Houseman (Wellsville) in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:09.64) and sophomore Liz Neddo (Syracuse/Fowler) in the 1,650-yard freestyle (18:45.28).

The combination of junior Samantha Buckley (Holbrook/Sachem North), Houseman, junior Krista Bergquist (West Islip) and Molzan finished second in the 200-yard medley relay (1:54.58). Bergquist was the runner-up to Barnoski in the 50-yard freestyle (25.64) by just seven hundredths of a second, Buckley placed second in the 500-yard freestyle (5:26.85) and senior Jeannine McNamara (Williamsville/Williamsville East) finished second in one-meter diving (194.90 points).
