SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Sophomore
Gino Bisceglia (Norwood/Norwood-Norfolk) and freshman
Ryan Pericozzi (Lancaster) each posted victories as Cortland competed at the Syracuse University Welcome Back Meet.
Bisceglia won the 400-meter dash in 51.31 seconds and was also fourth in the 200-meter dash in 23.25 seconds. Pericozzi took top honors in the pole vault, clearing 15' 1.25”.
Junior
Joe Keleher (Newfane) finished second in the pole vault (14' 1.25”) and was fifth in the 55-meter hurdles (7.94). Keleher's prelim time of 7.72 seconds in the hurdles is an NCAA provisional qualiifer.
Sophomore
Phill Wiltshire (Apalachin/Vestal) placed second behind Bisceglia in the 400-meter dash with a time of 53.72 seconds. Sophomore
Nick Wilson (Seneca Falls/Mynderse Academy) was the runner-up in the high jump (5' 11.25”) and freshman
Zac Farnham-Haskell (Essex Junction, VT/Essex) finished sixth in the 200-meter dash (24.08).
Freshman
Chris Gregory (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa) and junior
Todd Plumer (Beacon) each turned in a pair of top-five finishes in field events. Gregory was fourth in the shot put (38' 6.5”) and fifth in the weight throw (35' 5.5”), while Plumer finished fourth in the weight throw (40' 1.5”) and fifth in the shot put (37' 4.75”).
