SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Junior Kristen Serikstad (Oyster Bay) and sophomore Valerie Winberry (Bay Shore) each turned in two top-five finishes as Cortland competed at the Syracuse University Welcome Back Meet.

Serikstad finished third in the high jump (5' 2.5”) and was fourth in the long jump (16' 6”). Winberry placed fourth in the weight throw (33' 2.5”) and fifth in the shot put (34' 0.25”).

Junior Nicole Ragard (Binghamton/Susquehanna Valley) and senior Keri Laviska (Binghamton/Susquehanna Valley) each cleared 9' 10.25” in the pole vault. Due to fewer misses, Ragard tied for third place while Laviska finished fifth.

Junior Mallory Baker (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa) finished third in the 400 meters (1:04.16), with freshman Veronica Montrose (Clintondale/Highland) placing sixth in the event (1:08.10). Freshman Becky Zurek (Syracuse/Marcellus) finished fourth (9.77) and freshman Lindsey Burns (Pulaski) finished sixth (9.94) in the 55-meter hurdles.
