HAMILTON, N.Y. - Four Cortland athletes won events, led by an NCAA-provisional pole vault from freshman
Ryan Pericozzi (Lancaster), as the Red Dragons competed at the Colgate University Class of '32 Invitational.
Pericozzi improved on his national qualifying height with a winning pole vault of 15' 5.75". Cortland's other three winners qualified for the ECAC Division III Championships with their performances. Junior
Joe Keleher (Newfane) won the 60-meter hurdles in 8.34 seconds, just one hundredth of a second off the school record. Junior
Justin Wager (Guilderland) won the 1,000-meter run in 2:28.42 and junior
Seth DuBois (Altamont/Guilderland) captured the 3,000-meter run in 8:39.47.
Cortland took the top three spots in the pole vault. In addition to Pericozzi's victory, senior
Jake Zanetti (Saratoga Springs) finished second (15' 0") and Keleher placed third (14' 6"), both with ECAC-qualifying heights. Senior
Josh Henry (Truxton/Homer) finished second behind DuBois in the 3,000 meters in 8:41.31, also an ECAC qualifier.
Two other Red Dragons reached ECAC standards. Junior
Caleb Olsen (Bellmore/J.F.K. Bellmore) finished fourth in the 1,000 meters (2:35.07) and junior
Kyle O'Brien (Monroe/Monroe-Woodbury) placed ninth in the 3,000 meters (8:53.44).
Sophomore
Nick Wilson (Seneca Falls/Mynderse Academy) finished fifth in the 60-meter hurdles (8.92 seconds, 8.65 in prelims). Pericozzi also qualified for the finals in the 60-meter hurdles with a sixth-place prelim time of 8.93 seconds, but he did not compete in the title race.
Cortland's other top-eight finisher was junior
Eric Graber (Lansingburgh), who placed eighth in the 1,000 meters (2:40.60).
