ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The quartet of junior Katie Molzan (Plattsburgh/Peru), junior Megan Donlevy (Lake Grove/Sachem North), senior Lauren Friedlander (Woodbury/Syosset) and junior Kristin Barnoski (Stanley/Marcus Whitman) won the 400-yard freestyle relay, the final event of the meet, to give Cortland a 151-149 victory over host Rochester in a swimming and diving dual meet. The victory extends the Red Dragons' record to 4-1 on the season.

Cortland's time of 3:44.29 in the event was just over a second faster than Rochester's second-place time. The Red Dragons trailed 145-138 entering the race.

Barnoski also anchored Cortland's meet-opening victory in the 400-yard medley relay (4:12.96), teaming with sophomore Stephenie Bintz (Altamont/Guilderland), junior Taylor Houseman (Wellsville) and sophomore Liz Neddo (Syracuse/Fowler). Cortland also finished second in that event as junior Krista Bergquist (West Islip), sophomore Rachel Phillips (Angola/Eden), freshman Laura Bohneberg (Lockport) and Molzan were timed in 4:15.49.

Houseman and Neddo each claimed two individual victories at the meet. Houseman won the 100-yard breaststroke (1:10.82) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:34.39), while Neddo captured the 200-yard butterfly (2:15.60) and the 100-yard butterfly (1:03.29). Cortland's other individual winner was junior Samantha Buckley (Holbrook/Sachem North), who touched the wall first in the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:05.72).

Buckley also earned runner-up honors in the 200-yard butterfly (2:27.33), behind Neddo, as well as the 500-yard freestyle (5:27.02). Bohneberg finished second in three races – the 100-yard breaststroke (1:12.69) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:36.91), both behind Houseman, and the 100-yard butterfly (1:06.16) behind Neddo.

Other second-place showings were turned in by Barnoski in the 50-yard freestyle (25.58), Bintz in the 200-yard backstroke (2:18.91) and junior Lauryn Kaznowski (Kingston) in one-meter diving (197.35 points).
