LOCK HAVEN, PA. - The Cortland women's cross country team, ranked 35th nationally in Division III, placed 12th out of 18 teams at the Penn State National on Friday with 374 points. The Red Dragons were competing as the only Division III program at the meet, won by Division I West Virginia with 27 points. The meet was initially announced as canceled due to snow in State College, Pa., but was instead moved at the last minute to Lock Haven University.
Sophomore
Alyson Dalton (Sherrill/Vernon-Verona-Sherrill) was Cortland's top runner, completing the 6,000-meter course in 22:32 to finish 64th out of 202 competitors. Shippensburg sophomore Neely Spence won the race in 20:21. Sophomore
