BROCKPORT, N.Y. – Sophomore
Jackie De Luise (Guilderland) scored the game's lone goal midway through the second half as visiting Cortland defeated The College at Brockport, 1-0, Saturday afternoon in SUNYAC women's soccer action. The Red Dragons improved to 9-4-1 overall and 3-3-1 in the conference, while the Golden Eagles had their 11-game unbeaten streak snapped and fell to 8-2-3 and 4-1-2.
After a scoreless first half, sophomore
Bridgette DeSantis (Schenectady/Mohonasen) sent a cross into the box and De Luise was able to bury a shot inside the far post in the 69th minute for her second goal of the season.
Junior goalie
Pam Monnier (East Northport/Northport) stopped two shots for Cortland to register her fifth shutout of the season. Erin Asquith stopped six shots for the Golden Eagles.
