Dan Evans won all three of his individual races and anchored the winning 400-yard freestyle relay team
CORTLAND, N.Y. – Senior
Dan Evans (Hamburg) won three individual events and anchored a winning relay team in Cortland's 168-128 home dual loss to SUNY Geneseo. The Red Dragons are 2-2 with the setback, while Geneseo improves to 3-0.
Evans won the 200-yard freestyle (1:47.40), the 50-yard freestyle (21.76) and the 100-yard freestyle (47.59). He also combined with senior
Caleb VanSickle (Stanley/Marcus Whitman), freshman
Dan Maximowicz (Binghamton/Chenango Forks) and senior
Matt Young (Schoharie) to win the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:17.40).
Freshman
Kyle Kaznowski (Kingston) placed first in both diving events. He scored 251.05 points on the three-meter board. His one-meter score is not available.
VanSickle finished second in the two long-distance events – the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:31.37) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:05.39). Sophomore
Dan Drew (Farmington/Victor) was the 100-yard backstroke runner-up (57.72), senior
Jeff Moessinger (Elma/Iroquois) finished second in the 200-yard butterfly (2:02.75) and sophomore
Travis Burke (Massapequa) placed second in three-meter diving (250.20 pts.).
In addition, the 200-yard medley relay team of Drew, freshman
Dan MacQuarrie (Vestal), sophomore
Dylan Scheemaker (Fairport) and Young finished second in 1:42.80.
