Red Dragons Win Six Individual Events in Dual Loss to Geneseo

Taylor Houseman won the 100-yard breaststroke and finished second in the 200-yard breaststroke
CORTLAND, N.Y. – Cortland won six individual events and one relay but it wasn't enough as the Red Dragons fell to visiting Geneseo, 165-129, in a dual meet. Cortland drops to 1-3 and Geneseo is 3-0 with the outcome.

Senior Krista Bergquist (West Islip) was victorious in both the 100-yard backstroke (1:01.36) and the 100-yard butterfly (1:02.56). Senior Taylor Houseman (Rushford/Wellsville) won the 100-yard breaststroke (1:10.30) and placed second in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:33.56).

Junior Liz Neddo (Syracuse/Fowler) earned top honors in the 200-yard butterfly (2:17.54), senior Kristin Barnoski (Stanley/Marcus Whitman) won the 50-yard freestyle (25.64) and freshman Abigail MacDonald (East Amherst/Williamsville North) finished first in the 200-yard backstroke (2:08.71). MacDonald also was the 200-yard individual medley runner-up (2:20.98).

The quartet of MacDonald, Houseman, Bergquist and Barnoski won the 200-yard medley relay in 1:53.73, while senior Katie Molzan (Plattsburgh/Peru), Barnoski, sophomore Michelle Seeger (Oneonta) and Bergquist finished second in the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:48.60).

Senior Lauryn Kaznowski (Kingston) finished second in both one-meter diving (207.30 pts.) and three-meter diving (score n/a). Senior Samantha Buckley (Holbrook/Sachem North) was second in the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:11.89).
