MOUNT MORRIS, N.Y. - Sophomore Alyson Dalton (Sherrill/Vernon-Verona-Sherrill) and senior Lisa Holt (Phoenix/John C. Birdlebough) earned all-region honors at the NCAA Division III Atlantic Regionals as the Cortland women's cross country team placed eighth out of 33 teams with 212 points. St. Lawrence won the meet with 43 points. Geneseo (74 points), New York University (138 points), Ithaca (163 points) and Rensselaer (181 points) completed the top five.
Dalton placed 20th overall out of 239 competitors, finishing the 6,000-meter course in 22:54.2. Junior Wendy Pavlus of St. Lawrence crossed the finish line first in 21:22.0. Holt finished 31st in 23:13.6. The top-35 finishers receive all-region honors. Rounding out Cortland's scorers were junior Erin Keaveney (West Hempstead/Kellenberg Memorial) in 42nd (23:31.0), senior Sarah Lazarus (South New Berlin/Unadilla Valley) in 55th (23:42.0) and sophomore Christina DiLallo (Randolph in 66th (23:54.2).
Junior Kristin Vespa (Ossining) finished 74th in 24:04.3, while freshman Heather Clancy (Syracuse/Westhill) crossed the finish line in 86th place (24:25.2).
