HIGHLAND HILLS, OHIO - The defending national champion Cortland men's cross country team finished fifth out of 32 schools at the NCAA Division III Championships Saturday afternoon at the Highland Park Golf Course in Highland Hills, Ohio. The Red Dragons, who have now recorded four consecutive top-five national finishes, compiled 232 points. North Central College easily won the title with 50 points, followed by Williams (181), Allegheny (195), New York University (224) and the Red Dragons.
Senior
Kyle O'Brien (Monroe/Monroe-Woodbury) earned All-America honors for the first time in his career with a 17th-place finish, covering the 8,000-meter course in 25:52.9. Senior Ricky Flynn of Lynchburg College won the race in 25:09.8. Freshman
Sean Curry (Syracuse/Bishop Ludden) was Cortland's second scorer, finishing 48th in 26:20.8. Seniors
Eric Stermer (Chenango Forks) and
Seth DuBois (Altamont/Guilderland) crossed the finish line in 74th and 75th place, respectively, in 26:34.9 and 26:35.2. Senior
Justin Wager (Guilderland) rounded out Cortland's scorers, finishing 98th in 26:44.0.

Jerry Greenlaw (Warwick/Warwick Valley) finished 142nd in 27:03.1, and junior
Jared Newell (Queensbury) rounded out Cortland's runners, crossing the finish line 254th in 28:25.2. A total of 276 runners competed.
