Patrick Palmisano scored his team-high fifth goal of the season
PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – Five players each scored once as nationally top-ranked Plattsburgh defeated visiting Cortland, 5-1, in a SUNYAC contest. The Cardinals are now 3-0 both overall and in league play. The Red Dragons fall to 2-2 overall and 1-2 in the conference.

Senior Patrick Palmisano (Ann Arbor, MI/Bay State Breakers) scored Cortland's lone goal – a power play tally assisted by sophomore Jake Saville (Bellingham, WA/Marquette Rangers) 12 minutes, 36 seconds into the second period that cut Plattsburgh's lead to 3-1. Freshman goalie Doug Danzi (Nesconset/New Jersey Rockets) made 29 saves in his first game as a Red Dragon.

Plattsburgh goalie Ryan Williams recorded 19 saves for the victory. The Cardinals posted 34 shots on goal to 20 for the Red Dragons.

Chris Wieland scored the only goal of the first period with 5:38 left, assisted by Ryan Corry and Eric Satim. The goal came only two seconds after a Cortland penalty officially expired. The lead grew to 3-0 on two goals in the first two minutes of the second period. Kyle Kudroch tallied at the 1:32 mark, assisted by Kyle VanDermale, and Satim found the net just 16 seconds later off a Matty MacLeod assist.

Palmisano scored his team-high fifth goal of the season just four seconds after Plattsburgh went to the penalty box on an interference call. The hosts completed the scoring in the first seven minutes of the third period. Vick Schlueter scored at the 1:19 mark, with assists to MacLeod and Kudroch, and Patrick Jobb tallied at the 6:20 mark, assisted by Matt Bessing and Paul Puglisi.
