Palen NCAA Qualifier in 5K at Boston University

Andi Palen provisionally qualified for nationals in the 5,000 meters in 17:25.94
BOSTON, MASS. - Sophomore Andi Palen (Gardiner/Wallkill) provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships in the 5,000-meter run to highlight Cortland's performances at the Boston University Valentine's Invitational.

Palen finished ninth in the 67-runner event in 17:25.94. She also anchored Cortland's distance medley relay team that placed 18th with an ECAC-qualifying time of 12:25.87. The first three legs of that relay were run by junior Kate Ramsbotham (West Islip), junior Mallory Baker (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa) and sophomore Jess Stanton (Elmira Heights/Thomas A. Edison).

Senior Alanna Hollborn (Islip Terrace/East Islip) finished 21st (17:55.70) and sophomore Caitlin Sullivan (Elmira Heights/Thomas A. Edison) was 42nd (18:34.78) in the 5,000 meters, both with ECAC qualifying times. Two Red Dragons also qualified for ECACs in the 3,000 meters. Freshman Alyson Dalton (Sherrill/Vernon-Verona-Sherrill) finished 35th (10:25.84) and junior Lisa Holt (Phoenix/John C. Birdlebough) was 64th (10:47.25) in the 121-runner field.
