Four Women's School Records Fall at NYU Meet

Taylor Houseman improved on her school record and NCAA "B cut" time in the 200-yard breaststroke
NEW YORK, N.Y. – Cortland swimmers broke four school records and posted three NCAA “B Cuts” at a last-chance meet hosted by New York University.

Sophomore Liz Neddo (Syracuse/Fowler) established new school marks in both the 200-yard butterfly and 500-yard freestyle. Her time of 2:07.30 in the 200-yard butterfly is an NCAA provisional time and breaks the school record of 2:10.21 set by Sarah O'Loughlin last year. Neddo's 500-yard freestyle time of 5:10.86 eclipses the previous school record of 5:14.01 held by Jessica Covert in 1998.

Junior Taylor Houseman (Wellsville) improved on both her previous school record and NCAA time in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:23.53. She swam the race in 2:25.02 at last week's SUNYAC Championships.

The 200-yard medley relay of junior Krista Bergquist (West Islip), Houseman, Neddo and junior Kristin Barnoski (Stanley/Marcus Whitman) also broke their own school record with a time of 1:50.56. They swam the relay in 1:50.89 at the SUNYAC meet.

Barnoski recorded an NCAA “B cut” time of 24.37 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle, but she has already posted a faster time with her time of 24.14 seconds last week.
