ITHACA, N.Y. - Senior
Sarah Kimball (Liverpool) and junior
Kristen Serikstad (Oyster Bay) each earned second-place finishes at the Cornell Univeristy Deneault Invitational. Kimball reached NCAA provisional qualifying standards with her second-place height of 11' 3.75" in the pole vault and Serikstad was second in the high jump with an ECAC-qualifying height of 5' 5".
Serikstad also qualified for ECACs with a seventh-place distance of 16' 10.75" in the long jump. Junior
Kate Ramsbotham (West Islip) was also an ECAC qualifier with her fifth-place time of 3:03.82 in the 1,000-meter run.
Junior
Mallory Baker (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa) finished third in the 300-meter run (43.79) and sophomore
Barbara Green (Levittown/Division Avenue) placed fourth in the 600-meter run (1:46.68). Three other Red Dragons turned in top-10 efforts. Sophomore
Valerie Winberry (Bay Shore) finished eighth in the shot put (36' 1.5"), freshman
Brenna Filipello (Bethlehem) was ninth in the 60-meter hurdles (9.83) and sophomore
Sarah Wignall (Weedsport) placed ninth in the pole vault (9' 10").
