DuBois Reaches NCAA Provisional Status, Breaks Stadium Record in 5K at Cortland Classic

Seth DuBois won the 5,000-meter run in 14:44.77, a new stadium and meet record
CORTLAND, N.Y. – Junior Seth DuBois (Altamont/Guilderland) provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships in the 5,000-meter run as Cortland hosted the two-day, non-team scoring Cortland Classic. DuBois posted a winning time of 14:44.77, which broke both meet and stadium records in the event.

Freshman Ryan Pericozzi (Lancaster) and senior Jake Zanetti (Saratoga Springs) each recorded NCAA provisional heights in the pole vault at 15' 9.25”. Pericozzi finished first and Zanetti was second in the event due to number of misses.

Junior Joe Keleher (Newfane) and sophomore Phill Wiltshire (Apalachin/Vestal) also turned in victories at the meet. Keleher won the 110-meter hurdles in 15.57 seconds and Wiltshire won the 400-meter hurdles in 55.47 seconds, both ECAC Division III Championship qualifiers. Keleher also qualified for ECAC's with a fifth-place pole vault of 14' 5.5”.

Other ECAC qualifiers for the Red Dragons were senior Shamus Nally (Burnt Hills/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) with a third-place time of 32:17.49 in the 10,000-meter run, and the 4x400-meter relay of Wiltshire, junior Eric Graber (Lansingburgh), freshman Zac Farnham-Haskell (Essex Junction, VT/Essex) and sophomore Gino Bisceglia (Norwood/Norwood-Norfolk) with a sixth-place time of 3:24.63.

Junior Drew Hilker (Ithaca) finished third in the long jump (20' 0.25”) and fifth in the high jump (5' 11.5”), Pericozzi placed fourth in the long jump (19' 11”) and sophomore Matt McDougle (Buffalo/Kenmore West) finished fourth in the 100-meter dash (11.25). Junior Justin Wager (Guilderland) and sophomore Andrew Brusso (Elmira/Elmira Southside) finished sixth (4:02.93) and seventh (4:03.34), respectively, out of 51 runners in the 1,500-meter run, and senior Niko Viglione (Purdys/Somers) placed seventh out of 51 competitors in the 800 meters (1:57.71).
