ITHACA, N.Y. - Seven Cortland competitors turned in top-5 finishes at the Cornell University Big Red Invitational on Sunday. Three of those performances came in the 800-meter run, including the top two spots.
Junior
Justin Wager (Guilderland) won the 800 meters in 1:53.12, qualifying for the ECAC Division III Championships and missing NCAA provisional status by 0.12 seconds. Senior
Niko Viglione (Purdys/Somers) finished second with an ECAC time of 1:54.33 and freshman
Kyle Fitzpatrick (Washingtonville) placed fifth in 1:56.26.

Jake Zanetti (Saratoga Springs) and freshman
Ryan Pericozzi (Lancaster) each registered pole vaults of 15' 3", ECAC qualifiers. Zanetti finished third and Pericozzi tied for fourth due to number of misses. Junior
Joe Keleher (Newfane) finished fifth in the 110-meter hurdles (15.32) and junior
Drew Hilker (Ithaca) tied for fifth in the high jump (6' 2.75"), both with ECAC qualifying efforts.

Durrell Reed (Syracuse/Corcoran) was ninth in the 110-meter hurdles (16.03), freshman
Kyle Ellis (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa) placed ninth in the shot put (38' 4.25") and junior
Todd Plumer (Beacon) finished ninth in the hammer throw (136' 3"). Freshman
Dan McManus (Warwick/Warwick Valley) was 10th in the 200-meter dash (22.55), sophomore
Gino Bisceglia (Norwood/Norwood-Norfolk) finished 10th in the 400 meters (50.69) and freshman
Joe Babbino (Holtsville/Sachem East) was 10th in the 400-meter hurdles (59.35).
