Sarah Kimball finished in 10th place in the pole vault during her second NCAA appearance
MARIETTA, OHIO - Cortland senior
Sarah Kimball (Liverpool) finished in 10th place out of 19 competitors in the pole vault at the NCAA Division III Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by Marietta College.
Kimball's best height was 11' 10.5". She missed All-America honors by two places. Rachel Secrest of North Central College won the event at 13' 2.25". Kimball was making the second NCAA appearance of her career. She tied for 16th place at last year's outdoor national meet in Wisconsin.
Cortland has one more competitor scheduled for this year's championships. Junior
Kristen Serikstad (Oyster Bay) will compete in the high jump Saturday at 2:30 p.m. Serikstad was an All-American outdoors last year with a tie for fourth place in addition to earn two indoor All-America honors with a second place finish this past winter and a tie for fifth in 2008.
