CANTON, N.Y. – The Cortland Red Dragons finished first out of seven teams to take the title at the Ronald C. Hoffmann Invitational. Cortland scored 20 points, placing them ahead of host St. Lawrence (41) in second and Ottawa (88) in third.
Senior
Seth DuBois (Altamont/Guilderland) finished second overall out of 114 runners, completing the 8,000-meter course in 25 minutes, 44 seconds. Following DuBois were senior
Justin Wager (Guilderland) (25:44) and freshman
Sean Curry (Syracuse/Bishop Ludden) (25:45) finishing third and fourth, respectively.

Eric Stermer (Chenango Forks) finished sixth in 26:03 and junior
Jared Newell (Queensbury) was seventh with a time of 26:14. Senior
Jerry Greenlaw (Warwick/Warwick Valley) rounded out Cortland's scorers, crossing the line 10th in 26:31.
Cortland had three other runners finish in the top 25 – junior
Brendan Brethel (Lynbrook) in 22nd place (27:02), freshman
Matt Knott (Smithtown) in 23rd place (27:05) and freshman
Brent Pavlick (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa) in 24th place (27:08).
