ONEONTA, N.Y. – Two Cortland players registered a goal and an assist each as the nationally sixth-ranked Red Dragons stayed unbeaten with a 4-0 victory at Hartwick College. Cortland improves to 8-0 on the season, while the host Hawks are now 3-3.

Senior Lauren Eichenberger (Suffern) and junior Brenda Semit (Holland Patent) scored one goal apiece and assisted on another. Freshmen Danielle Groneman (East Islip) and Sara Woodward (Pine Plains) also scored for Cortland, which outshot Hartwick 19-7 and held a 19-4 advantage in penalty corners.

Junior Brianna Yetsko (Vestal) registered an assist. Junior Ashley Hughes (Selden/Comsewogue) made three saves in 63:58 between the posts. Freshman Emily von Schondorf (Webster/Webster Thomas) stopped one shot over the final 6:02 to preserve the shutout.

Mackenzie Chapman recorded 10 saves, also in 63:58, for the hosts. Megan Campbell added one save the rest of the way.

Eichenberger staked Cortland to an early 1-0 lead on a goal off a rebound with just 1:45 elapsed. The Red Dragons added a goal at the end of the first half when Groneman knocked home a crossing pass from Eichenberger during a penalty corner play. Although the 35-minute first half had expired, Cortland was allowed to continue playing the corner, by rule, and Groneman scored before Hartwick could clear the ball.

Woodward's tip-in, off a Semit assist, extended the lead to 3-0 just over four minutes into the second half. Semit closed the scoring with a goal on a penalty corner situation with 8:16 left. Yetsko assisted on the tally.
