Matt Young won the 100-yard freestyle and led off the winning 200-yard medley relay team
CORTLAND, N.Y. – Second and third-place finishes in the 400-yard freestyle relay, the final event of the night, allowed Cortland to hold on for a 144-140 victory over New Paltz in the Red Dragons' final home dual meet of the season. Cortland is 12-2 in dual action this season.
Cortland led 138-129 entering the final relay. New Paltz scored 11 points by winning the relay, but the Red Dragons picked up four points for second place and two points for third place to preserve their victory. Junior

Evans won the 50-yard freestyle (21.39) and 100-yard butterfly (52.93), while freshman
Kyle Kaznowski (Kingston) captured three-meter (441.55 points) and one-meter (403.00 points) diving.
VanSickle won the 200-yard freestyle (1:48.47) and finished second in the 500-yard freestyle (4:57.33) by less than three tenths of a second. Young won the 100-yard freestyle (48.92) and placed second in the 100-yard backstroke (54.69).
Moessinger won the 200-yard butterfly (2:03.24) and freshman
Justin Nelson (Jamestown/Frewsburg) was the 200-yard backstroke winner (2:01.04). Young, sophomore Daniel Salvatore (Clarence), Evans and McCabe won the opening 200-yard medley relay in 1:38.47, edging the Hawks by less than two tenths of a second.
Freshman
Dan MacQuarrie (Vestal) was second in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:03.60) and Scheemaker finished second in the 200-yard butterfly (2:06.17). Sophomore
Travis Burke (Massapequa) recorded the second-highest total behind Kaznowski on both diving boards. He scored 426.35 points on the three-meter board and totaled 385.65 points as an exhibition entry on the one-meter board.
