BETHLEHEM, PA. – Junior
Alyson Dalton (Sherrill/Vernon-Verona-Sherrill) finished in fifth place out of 387 runners to highlight Cortland's women's cross country performances in the Brown Division of the Lehigh University Paul Short Run.
The Red Dragons finished fifth out of 41 schools, including 17 Division I and nine Division II teams. Rutgers won the race with 118 points, followed by Princeton (161), Loyola Univ. (Md.) (176), Canisius (231), Cortland (246) and Millersville (258). Among the schools Cortland defeated were St. John's, Pittsburgh, George Washington and Temple.
Dalton covered the 6,000-meter course in 22:00. Elicia Anderson of Millersville won the race in 21:03. Dalton was one second behind the fourth-place finisher and one second ahead of the sixth-place runner.
Five other Red Dragons finished in the top 85 of the field. Senior
Kristin Vespa (Ossining) was 28th in 22:46, senior
Erin Keaveney (West Hempstead/Kellenberg Memorial) placed 51st in 23:07 and freshman
Dayna Eikeseth (Staten Island/Tottenville) was 79th in 23:26. Sophomore
Alexis Fairbanks (Apalachin/Owego Free Academy) crossed the line 83rd (23:29) and senior
Caitlin Sullivan (Elmira/Thomas A. Edison)was 85th (23:30).

Jordyn Naylon (Fairport) finished 104th (23:40), freshman
Emily Cotey (Norwood/Norwood-Norfolk) placed 136th (23:56), junior
Hannah Hoffman (Rome/Rome Free Academy) finished 139th (23:56) and freshman
Colleen Fischman (Buffalo/Hamburg) was 181st (24:17) as all 10 of Cortland's runners placed in the top half of the field.
In the women's 6,000-meter open race, freshman
Ally Borriello (Montgomery/Valley Central) finished 109th out of 212 runners in 24:57, while freshman
Laura Quercia (Marcellus) finished in 126th place (25:18).
