CORTLAND, N.Y. - Senior Jordan Oye (Richmond, BC/Brampton Jr. A) scored 54 seconds into overtime to lead the Fredonia St. men's hockey team to a come-from-behind 3-2 win at Cortland Friday night in the SUNYAC opener for both teams.

Junior Matty Davie (Brooklyn/NY Apple Core) and freshman Stephen Nardi (Plainedge/NY Bobcats) scored goals for the Red Dragons (0-1, 0-1 SUNYAC) with senior Jarrett Gold (East Setauket/NY Bobcats) and junior Corey John (Albany/SUNY Plattsburgh) recording assists. Junior goalie Mike Reilly (New York/Bismarck Bobcats) made 24 saves.

Senior Alex Morton (Cannington, ON/Notre Dame Jr, A) led the Blue Devils (1-2, 1-0 SUNYAC) with a goal and an assist. Senior Chris de Bruyn (Calgary, AB/Brooks Jr. A) also netted a goal for Fredonia St., junior Bryan Ross (Livonia, MI/Alpena Jr. A) had two assists and three different players recorded an assist. Freshman goalie Mark Friesen (Calgary, AB/Langley) stopped 25 shots.

After a scoreless first period, de Bruyn gave the Blue Devils a 1-0 lead at the five minute, 49 second mark of the second period when he scored on a wrist shot from the right face-off circle through traffic. The lead held until 8:13 of the third period as Cortland scored on the power play. Fredonia St. failed to clear a loose puck and Davie snapped a shot from the left side over Friesen's left shoulder to knot the score at 1-1.

Nardi then gave Cortland its only lead of the night at 15:03. John won the draw back to Gold who fed a pass cross ice to Nardi at the right point. Nardi one-timed a shot through a screen that beat Friesen to make it a 2-1 game.

In the closing minutes of regulation, Cortland took a penalty and the Blue Devils pulled Friesen for a two-man advantage. With 27 seconds remaining, Morton sent the game to overtime with a slap shot from the right point. In the extra time, Oye netted the game winner when he tapped in a shot right in front off a feed from Morton after a Fredonia St. break out.
