Roe and Evans Help Red Dragons Beat Buffalo St., 120.5-82.5

Kelsey Roe won the 100-yard butterfly and the 1,000-yard freestyle
CORTLAND, N.Y. – The Cortland women's swimming and diving team opened its dual-meet season with a 120.5-82.5 victory over visiting Buffalo State behind two individual wins each from sophomores Jessica Evans (Hamburg) and Kelsey Roe (Auburn). Evans won the 50-yard freestyle (26.29) and 500-yard freestyle (5:46.91). Roe placed first in the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:46.01) and the 100-yard butterfly (1:04.91).

Sophomore Katherine Harris (Long Beach) was the winner in the 400-yard individual medley (5:12.37) and senior Rachel Phillips (Eden) took top honors in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:10.10).

The combination of Harris, Phillips, junior Michelle Seeger (Oneonta) and freshman Sarah Culmo (West Islip) won the 200-yard medley relay in 1:55.59 to open the meet. In the final race, the 200-yard freestyle relay of Culmo, Evans, freshman M.K. Dugue (Binghamton/Chenango Forks) and freshman Chrisanna Hickey (Hopewell Junction/John Jay East Fishkill) were the fastest quartet in 1:45.61 as an exhibition entry.
