CORTLAND, N.Y. - The Cortland women's volleyball team reached the 20-victory mark for the 28th consecutive season after posting wins over Geneseo, 3-1, and Hunter, 3-0, during Day 2 of the Cortland Invitational. The Red Dragons (20-5) finished 2-1 at the tournament. Stevens Institute was 3-0, Geneseo was 1-2 and Hunter finished 0-3.
Cortland beat Geneseo 25-22, 25-21, 24-26, 25-22 behind junior
Ashley Coyle's (Mt. Hope/Minisink Valley) 18 kills and 15 digs. Junior
Sheena Asibey (Brentwood) had 14 kills and sophomore
Kristen Guercio (Smithtown/Smithtown East) totaled 49 assists, 14 digs and three kills.
Junior
Kaitlyn Cooper (Webster/Webster Schroeder) added nine kills and two blocks and sophomore
Katie Wick (Cortland/Homer) accrued eight kills and 12 digs. Freshman
Krissy Silk (Massapequa Park/Massapequa) led the defense with 15 digs and sophomore
Erin Carrino (Baldwinsville/C.W. Baker) added nine digs.
In the Red Dragons' 25-17, 25-15, 25-21 win over Hunter, Wick led the offense with a career-high 20 kills and also recorded eight digs. Coyle had 12 kills and 14 digs and Guercio finished with 36 assists and seven digs.
Freshman
Aubrey Barrett (Liverpool) handled some of the setting duties and finished with 11 assists and two blocks. Cooper hit at a 70 percent clip and finished with eight kills. Sophomore

Jaclyn Lawrence (Marilla/Iroquois Central) had 10 digs and Carrino registered nine digs.
