Cortland Drops 6-1 Decision at #2 Oswego

OSWEGO, N.Y. – Six different players scored goals as nationally second-ranked Oswego stayed unbeaten with a 6-1 win over visiting Cortland. The Lakers improve to 7-0 overall and 5-0 in SUNYAC play. Cortland is 2-3-1 overall and 2-3 in the conference.

Ian Boots led the Lakers with a goal and two assists. Luke Moodie and Tyler Leimbrock each finished with a goal and an assist, while Matt Singleton and Andrew Mather scored once each.

Sophomore Chris Kaleta (Hamburg/Buffalo Jr. Sabres) scored Cortland's goal – a power-play tally set up by junior Peter Lompado (Staten Island/Minnesota St.-Mankato) that cut Oswego's lead to 5-1 with 14:10 left in the game.

Cortland junior goalie Mike Reilly (New York City/Bismarck Bobcats) made 41 saves, while Oswego netminder Paul Beckwith stopped 33 shots on goal.

Oswego jumped out to a 3-0 lead less than 10 minutes into the game on goals by Singleton, Brown and Mather. The lead grew to 4-0 just 46 seconds into the second period on a Boots goal. The Lakers' final two goals, scored by Leimbrock and Moodie, came 15 seconds apart midway through the third period.
