GENESEO, N.Y. – The Cortland women's swimming and diving team lost 167.5-127.5 in a dual meet at Geneseo. The Red Dragons are now 2-2 on the season.
Freshman
Chrisanna Hickey (Hopewell Junction/John Jay East Fishkill) led Cortland with victories in the 100-yard butterfly (1:01.36) and 200-yard individual medley (2:18.00), along with a second-place showing in the 200-yard butterfly (2:15.41).
Sophomore
Jessica Evans (Hamburg) tied for first place in the 200-yard freestyle (2:01.23). Graduate student
Lauryn Kaznowski (Kingston) won the one-meter diving event (229.30 points) and finished second in three-meter diving (212.05 points).
Senior
Rachel Phillips (Eden) turned in runner-up finishes in both the 100-yard breaststroke (1:11.26) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:35.79). Freshman
Brenna Munz (Poughquag/Arlington) finished second in the 1,650-yard freestyle (19:10.70) and freshman
Sarah Culmo (West Islip) was second in the 100-yard freestyle (56.55).
Sophomore
Kelsey Roe (Auburn) was second in the 200-yard backstroke (2:16.87) and sophomore
Abigail MacDonald (East Amherst/Williamsville North) finished second in the 100-yard butterfly (1:02.28). Cortland also had the second-fastest times in both relays – sophomore
Katherine Harris (Long Beach), Phillips, Hickey and Evans in the 400-yard medley relay (4:13.95), and junior
Michelle Seeger (Oneonta), Roe, Culmo and freshman
Caitlin Lanigan (West Seneca/West Seneca West) in the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:48.55).
