Red Dragons Fall at Hamilton

Senior Jarrett Gold scored his first goal of the season on the power play
CLINTON, N.Y. – The Hamilton men's hockey team broke open a close game with the game's final three goals over the last two periods to defeat Cortland, 6-2, Tuesday night in non-conference action. The Red Dragons fell to 2-5-1 with the loss, while the Continentals improved to 2-1.

Senior Jarrett Gold (East Setauket/NY Bobcats) led Cortland with a goal and an assist. Junior Matty Davie (Brooklyn/NY Apple Core) scored a goal, and senior Justin Porpora (Hauppauge/NY Bobcats) and junior Corey John (Albany/SUNY Plattsburgh) each registered an assist. Junior goalie Mike Reilly (New York/Bismarck Bobcats) turned aside 40 shots.

Six different players scored goals for Hamilton with sophomores Joe Houk (Richboro, PA/Council Rock H.S.) and Anthony Ruberto (Stoney Creek, ON/Cardinal Newman) recording one goal and one assist each. Senior Tom Chiappetta (Myrtle Beach, SC/The Gunnery), junior Bryan Kelly (Plymouth, MA/Pomfret School), sophomore Andrew Jelinek (Great Falls, VA/Tabor Academy) and freshman Michael DiMare (Medford, MA/Avon Old Farms School) netted one goal apiece. Senior Joe Buicko (Altamont/Hotchkiss School) contributed three assists, and junior Anthony Scarpino (Meadville, PA/Hobart College) had two assists. Senior goalie Scott Hefferman (Warwick, RI/Bishop Hendricksen) made 26 saves.
