Red Dragons Drop Dual Decision to Ithaca, 203-97

CORTLAND, N.Y. – Freshman Sarah Culmo (West Islip), senior Rachel Phillips (Eden) and sophomore Jessica Evans (Hamburg) each posted a first-place and second-place finish in Cortland's 203-97 dual-meet loss to visiting Ithaca College. The Red Dragons are now 2-1 on the season, while Ithaca is 3-0.

Culmo won the 50-yard freestyle (26.04) and was second in the 100-yard freestyle (55.89). Phillips was the 200-yard breaststroke winner (2:34.53) and was the 100-yard breaststroke runner-up (1:10.70), while Evans won the 100-yard butterfly (1:02.56) and placed second in the 200-yard freestyle (2:01.28).

Graduate student Lauryn Kaznowski (Kingston) finished second in both diving events. She scored 200.95 points on the one-meter board and 215.25 points on the three-meter board. Freshman Chrisanna Hickey (Hopewell Junction/John Jay East Fishkill) placed second in both the 200-yard butterfly (2:16.84) and the 200-yard individual medley (2:19.60).

In addition, freshman Brenna Munz (Poughquag/Arlington) was the second-place finisher in the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:29.46) and junior Michelle Seeger (Oneonta) was second in the 50-yard freestyle (26.13). The combination of Evans, Seeger, Culmo and sophomore Kelsey Roe (Auburn) finished second in the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:46.86).
